Flywheel energy storage urban rail Introduction

About Flywheel energy storage urban rail

Different from energy storage systems such as batteries and super-capacitors, the charging and discharging process of FESS needs to control the PMSM at first and then the PMSM adjusts the speed of the flywheel rotor. The control of the PMSM will affect the performance of the FESS. Therefore, when designing the control.

In order to realize the functions of voltage-stabilizing and energy-saving, this paper adopted multi-voltage thresholds control. The voltage closed-loop set three thresholds Uchar, Udis1 and Udis2, and divided the FESA into four.

In order to analyze the correctness of the control strategy of FESA based on the “voltage-speed-current” three closed-loop, the simulation verification was completed based on the simulation platform of urban rail transit power supply.

The control strategy of the FESA should not only consider the SOC management to avoid the flywheel speed from being too high or too low, which will affect the system performance, but also consider the coordinated control.

As the photovoltaic (PV) industry continues to evolve, advancements in Flywheel energy storage urban rail have become critical to optimizing the utilization of renewable energy sources. From innovative battery technologies to intelligent energy management systems, these solutions are transforming the way we store and distribute solar-generated electricity.
